bloody hell, just because I like sites that look good.
I think added visuals should be an optional extra, i've allways made this clear. This whole "no flash" movement Is far as I can tell only championed because it is closed source and a bandwidth hog. If you don't like it, choose the low speed alternative.

As far as webdesign goes I am primarily a html monkey, I think a nice flash intro and perhaps an optional flash navigation menu is handy and neat.

If you need help writing html, just ask me.

Tell me what needs to be done and I'll do it.

Well, since Jarad's back, we might not have to make a new site, but we will definitely need to thoroughly revise this one.

Hopefully, we can open this one up and try to cure what ails it. If we use this one as a springboard, we should be able to achieve our goals without having to build from the ground up.

yup, and they are doing a pretty good job at it too. There's also an option to delete specific profiles, but only I can do that. I am thinking about maybe giving that option off to you guys as well. Would that be wise?

Hey Quantum, since you've signed up to be the back-end coder, I'd like to run a few design ideas past you for feasability.

We don't, after all, want to commit to a design that cannot be completed.

First off, automatic ranking: How difficult and/or requiring of divine powers would it be to design is system that takes keywords from the users 'interests' section, and prioritizes new submissions on this basis?

The second is the feasibility of the website layout I'm working on. I have over a year's experience designing text pages for a magazine, but I'm not sure how well this style will transition to the web. I'll send you a copy of my mockups in 2 - 3 days, as soon as they are completed so you can review them for plausibility.

Excellent.

I really wasn't looking forward to learning PHP. I think I can handle most of the graphical aspects, especially if Yue comes on board to help.

I can't get on IRC at the moment, but i'll do my best to get on this evening wo we can go over the specifics.
