MMA events (and UFC 70 in England) - 13 February, 2007

I've been hearing rumours about the UFC coming back over to our little island, ever since "Brawl in the Albert Hall" years ago.
And now I've heard that UFC70 is going to be held at the M.E.N. Arena (Manchester Evening News), in Manchester.

I, for one, will be heading there, trying to get some ringside/cageside tickets/passes (thanks to our pre-order number, due to UFC membership) - anyone else thinking of heading to this, or any UFC's (or Pride's or IFL's or any MMA event for that matter)

EvilJ,

Well I am going to be in Las Vegas over the sum,mer and I am hoping it corresponds to a UFC fight. I will be attending a MA Conference (MA Supershow) and we usually get a good deal on seats through that event. I went last summer when Tito and Ken went at it for the second time... It was brutal. I recall when I first arrived at the arena and I bought a beer I was wondering why the hell they were serving it to me in a plastic bottle.. Then when they stopped the fight between Tito and Ken people started throwing bottles at the ring and I realized why we got Plastic...

Alternatively there may be some events this year in Foxwoods or Mohecian Sun which is a short drive from Boston which I would consider. The problem is though that if you have lousy seats you might as well stay home because the camera coverage is better and the bathrooms are cleaner! *grin*

Haha - I was trying to sort out a trip to Vegas for April or similar, but lack of a job, and funds, has meant that's not a possibility... but hey, can forfeit rent for ringside seats to the manchester event!

And yeah, if you get sucky seats, the only good thing about the venue is the atmosphere - but we always have a blast at my UFC "nights" with the big TV, loads of fighters and loads of beer

Now if I could just fit a matting system in my living room so that we can demo submission techniques between fights.....

I was hoping to catch the one they were gonna have in Montreal but it got cancelled. I'm hoping to catch one if they have it there or the next one they have in Ohio.

Well... that was a frantic 45 minutes...

Ticketmaster was supposed to be releasing the tickets at 10am... got to 10:38 and I randomly hit refresh (not too often, so as to not get locked out of their refresh limit) and there they were.

Put my details in, had to use a special pre-sale code (member of the UFC Fight Club )... et voila.
Now the proud owner of 2xRingside Floor seating Tickets
£250 each, plus £14 booking each - so £528, or about $1000 for all. Can't afford rent, bills or to eat - but I can go to the UFC!!!!!!

Yaaaaaaaahooooooooooooooo!

Haha, the card hasn't been fully announced - but the rumours are that Cro-Cop'll be there, as well as Tito, Bisping amongst others

Tbh, it's not about who's on, recently they've been having increasingly better cards... but it's just about _getting_ to a UFC!

EvilJ,

It really is an expereince! The thing that struck me when I was at the UFC event last summer was that even though I was in the nosebleed section at Mandalay Bay, I could hear the impact of the kicks as they landed. Oh my! These boys were not fooling arouns!
